{"id":168,"date":"2019-09-09T20:35:14","date_gmt":"2019-09-09T20:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.delanosportsmensclub.com\/dsc\/?page_id=168"},"modified":"2025-05-27T19:54:34","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T19:54:34","slug":"scholarships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.delanosportsmensclub.com\/dsc\/scholarships\/","title":{"rendered":"Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>THE KELLY AURENTZ SCHOLARSHIP FUND<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This scholarship fund was created in memory of Kelly Aurentz , a long-time member of the club, and a firm believer in the preservation of our natural resources .<\/p>\n<p>This scholarship is a part of the Delano Dollars For Scholars.\u00a0 Each year we contribute $500.00 to the fund, to be used to assist a graduate from\u00a0 the Delano High School that is pursuing\u00a0 a degree in environmental, natural resources or similar field.\u00a0 If it is not used in a particular year, it is carried over to the next year, however, only $500.00 is awarded in a year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>LONG<\/strong><strong> LAKE CONSERVATION CENTER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each year the club sponsors campers to go to the Long Lake Conservation Center.\u00a0 It is an\u00a0 environmental learning center , located in Aitkin County.\u00a0 It is a place for kids to go for a week to learn about nature and the environment.\u00a0 They learn to canoe,\u00a0 play environmental games, and\u00a0 to learn more about our natural surroundings.\u00a0 The club usually will send\u00a0 three to four campers a year.\u00a0 Dates\u00a0 for the trips vary.\u00a0 For more information, watch the newsletter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE KELLY AURENTZ SCHOLARSHIP FUND This scholarship fund was created in memory of Kelly Aurentz , a long-time member of the club, and a firm believer in the preservation of our natural resources .
